You probably know we do routine comprehensive eye/vision exams and fit eyeglasses and contacts. However, many people don't know we do all of these things and more:
We diagnose and treat eye diseases and injuries. If you have an eye problem, please call us first! It is almost always better to see us for these problems vs. general practitioners, urgent care centers, and emergency rooms. It will almost always be better and less expensive care. Our doctors are on call 24 hours/day.
We do clinical studies for many types of contact lenses and treatments for dry eye. Call or see us if you are interested in participating in these trials/studies.
We fit virtually every type of contact lens. Many doctors refer patients to us for the more difficult-to-fit patients.
We can substantially slow the progression of nearsightedness in children using special soft or GP contact lenses and/or a single eye drop per day. This improves the person's long-term quality of life and likely reduces the risks of eye diseases caused by high nearsightedness

Vision Exam: The Vision Exam is for patients who have NO eye disease or symptoms of disease. It is sometimes referred to as a “Routine Exam,” "Annual Eye Exam" or “Well-Vision Exam.” Your eyes will be examined for any needed correction either by glasses or contact lenses or for any potential indicators of eye disease. Routine Vision Exams do NOT qualify for prescribing medications and/or treatment and most often are NOT covered by medical insurance therefore a vision insurance plan will be billed. We are participating providers for VSP (Premier Provider), Eye Med, Spectera, Buckeye Health Plan, Caresource, Davis Vision(Versant Health) MedBen's Vision Plus, Molina, NVA, Superior Vision, VBA among others.
Medical Eye Exam: We also accept most major medical insurances such as Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care, and Aetna, Cigna which cover most office services. Check with our staff if you have other types of coverage.
The Comprehensive Medical Exam is for patients who have a current diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and conditions of the eye including Dry Eye Syndrome, Diabetes, Glaucoma, and Macular Degeneration therefore we will bill your medical insurance. Emergent visits for conditions such as corneal abrasions, foreign body, eye pain, flashes/floaters, pink eye, and sudden vision loss or changes, etc are also billed to medical insurance plans. A refraction, which is the determination of your eye glass prescription will NOT be covered under your medical insurance.
